The Landmarks of Prophecy

I recently learned about the Landmarks of Prophecy Bible Study Seminar. It’s a very interesting, in-depth study of Bible prophecy. It started on October 31st and is going on until the 22nd of November (if I remember correctly). Every evening, another episode is streamed live from their website (clicking on the image above will take you to the site), but you can also watch past episodes from there or from their Youtube playlist.

To be honest, I’ve been debating whether I should share this here on my blog because I know that many Christians only like to hear about the “soft stuff”. I guess I should explain what I mean by that.

Often times, we as christians focus in on a few specific books, chapters and verses in the Bible and ignore all the rest. We only want to hear the things that make us feel good and, when it comes down to it, we are not really that concerned with knowing the entire truth of the Bible.

I was always guilty of this myself. I would read the Bible every day, but I would never venture outside of the standard books and chapters that I’d always been reading. I’d read from the same verses and chapters from, say, the Psalms and the Gospels, while the books like Daniel and Revelation would remain closed.

I think it’s a shame how little time we spend studying and talking about Bible prophecy as Christians. According to the Bible, we are living in especially prophetic times, yet most of us know barely anything about the Bible’s prophecies. How can we claim to be Bible-believing Christians when we pick and choose what to read and study and what not to?

I’m inviting you to check out the Landmarks of Prophecy website, as well as their Youtube playlist where you can watch past episodes. Have your Bibles in hand and ask God to speak to you through His word, and to make a difference in your life though His prophecies.

Important: Don’t rely on Pastor Doug (the main speaker) to spoon-feed you the truth. These people are mere humans with faults just like anyone else. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to the truth as you study.

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. — John 16:13 (NKJV)

P.S. Don’t worry if you’re reading this after the 22nd of November (2014). I’m pretty sure the episodes will still be accessible after the series is over.

See you soon,

Kelsey 😀
